News Context

 ● Sudan descended into a civil war in April 2023 due to an intense power conflict between its Army and the influential paramilitary group, the Rapid Support Force (RSF).  
  ● Geographical Location: Situated in Northeast Africa.  
  ● Size: It is the third-largest country on the African continent.  
  ● Land Borders:  
    ● North: Egypt  
    ● East: Eritrea and Ethiopia  
    ● South: South Sudan  
    ● West: Central African Republic and Chad  
    ● Northwest: Libya  
  ● Maritime Boundary: Borders the Red Sea.  
  ● Nile River System: The White Nile and Blue Nile flow through Sudan.  

Refugee Camps / Conflict Areas in Sudan

 ● Zamzam Camp: Positioned to the south of El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur, Sudan.  
  ● Abu Shouk Camp (also known as Naivasha Camp): Located to the north-west of El Fasher.  
  ● Tuti Island Conflict: Occurs at the meeting point of the Blue Nile and White Nile in Khartoum, Sudan.
