 ● India has officially taken on the role of Chairmanship for the Asian Productivity Organization for the period of 2025-26.  

About Asian Productivity Organization (APO)

 ● Genesis: An intergovernmental organization formed in 1961 by eight founding members.  
    ● India is among the founding members.  
  ● Objective: Enhance productivity in the Asia-Pacific region through mutual cooperation.  
  ● Members: Includes 21 economies from the Asia-Pacific region.  
  ● Key Roles:  
        ○ Conducts research on the emerging needs of members for follow-up actions.
        ○ Promotes bilateral and multilateral alliances among members.
        ○ Surveys the economic and development policies and performance of each member.
