News Context

The Ministry of Panchayati Raj, in partnership with the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, has introduced the MYGS initiative.

About MYGS

This is an innovative effort to enhance Janbhagidari and encourage participatory local governance by involving students in simulated Gram Sabha sessions. It is in line with NEP 2020 and will be rolled out in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs), Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRSs), and State Government Schools.
  ● JNVs are residential schools founded under NEP 1986 to offer education to rural children regardless of their socio-economic background.  
    ● Nodal Ministry: Ministry of Education.  
  ● EMRSs are designed to deliver quality education to Scheduled Tribes (ST) students in regions with over 50% ST population and at least 20,000 tribal individuals.
