The Central Zoo Authority (CZA) report disclosed a confusion in the identification of the Alpine musk deer intended for conservation breeding, mistakenly identifying it as its Himalayan counterpart.
 Habitat:
      ○ Found in temperate climates within alpine meadows, shrublands, and forests of birch, blue pine, and fir.
      ○ A native species of India, Nepal, Bhutan, and China.
