The Battle of Haldighati (1576)

The battle was fought between the Mughal Empire and the forces of Mewar in June 1576 at Haldighati in Rajasthan.

Mewar forces were led by Maharana Pratap, and the Mughal forces led by Man Singh I of Amber.

It was a decisive victory for the Mughal Emperor Jalal ud-Din Muhammad Akbar’s general Raja Man Singh against the Maharana Pratap Singh of Mewar.

It led to the loss of the fertile eastern belt of Mewar to the Mughals.

Despite the reverse at Haldighati, Pratap continued his resistance against the Mughals through Guerrilla warfares and by the time of his death regained much of his ancestral kingdom.

'हल्दीघाटी का युद्ध (1576)'

यह युद्ध मुगल साम्राज्य और मेवाड़ की सेनाओं के बीच जून 1576 में हल्दीघाटी, राजस्थान में लड़ा गया था।

मेवाड़ की सेनाओं का नेतृत्व महाराणा प्रताप ने किया, और मुगल सेनाओं का नेतृत्व अंबर के मान सिंह प्रथम ने किया।

Death of Shivaji (1680)

Shivaji B honsale I a member of the Bhonsle Maratha clan.

Shivaji carved out an enclave from the declining Adilshahi sultanate of Bijapur that formed the genesis of the Maratha Empire.

In 1674, he was formally crowned the Chhatrapati (emperor) of his realm at Raigad.

Shivaji died on 3 April 1680.

Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj died on 3^rd April 1680 at the age of 50. The cause of Shivaji's death is disputed. British records states that Shivaji died of bloody flux being sick for 12 days.

In a contemporary work in Portuguese, the Biblioteca Nacional de Lisboa, the recorded cause of death of Shivaji is anthrax.

However the biography of Shivaji has mentioned fever as the cause of death of Shivaji.

Note: In the answer the year of death of Shivaji has been given 1686 but the actual year of death is 1680.

शिवाजी ने बिजापुर के घटते हुए आदिलशाही सल्तनत से एक क्षेत्र को बाहर निकाला जो मराठा साम्राज्य की उत्पत्ति का आधार बना।

Accession of Akbar (1556)

Akbar succeeded Humayun on 14 February 1556, while in the midst of a war against Sikandar Shah to reclaim the Mughal throne.

The accession took place in Kalanaur, Punjab.

He was just 14 year old and was enthroned by Bairam Khan.

He was proclaimed Shahanshah (‘King of Kings’).

Bairam Khan ruled on his behalf until he came of age.

अकबर ने हुमायूँ के बाद 14 फरवरी 1556 को मुगल सिंहासन को पुनः प्राप्त करने के लिए सिकंदर शाह के खिलाफ युद्ध के बीच में गद्दी संभाली।

राज्याभिषेक कलानौर, पंजाब में हुआ।

Nadir Shah's capture of Delhi (1739)

Nader Shah was the Shah of Persia and the founder of the Afsharid dynasty of Persia.

He invaded Northern India, eventually attacking Delhi in March 1739.

He easily defeated the Mughals under Mohammad Sah at the Battle of Karnal and eventually captured Delhi.

'नादिर शाह द्वारा दिल्ली पर कब्जा (1739)'

नादिर शाह फारस के शाह थे और फारस के अफ़शारिद वंश के संस्थापक थे।

उन्होंने उत्तरी भारत पर आक्रमण किया और अंततः मार्च 1739 में दिल्ली पर हमला किया।

Grant of Charter to EIC (1600)

The Company of Merchants of London Trading into the East Indies was granted a royal charter by Queen Elizabeth I.

It was established with 125 shareholders and £72,000 of capital.

Sir Thomas Smythe was appointed as The Company's first Governor.

As a consequence of this Charter the British East India Company set up trading establishments on the east and west coasts of India and in Bengal.

The Company's ships first arrived in India, at the port of Surat, in 1608.

'ईस्ट इंडिया कंपनी को चार्टर का अनुदान (1600)'

कंपनी ऑफ मर्चेंट्स ऑफ लंदन ट्रेडिंग इन्टू द ईस्ट इंडीज को रानी एलिजाबेथ I द्वारा एक शाही चार्टर (royal charter) प्रदान किया गया था।
