UP Kisan Sabha:

● The UP Kisan Sabha was set up in February 1918 by Gauri Shankar Mishra and Indra Narayan Dwivedi. Madan Mohan Malaviya supported their efforts.

● By June 1919, the UP Kisan Sabha had 450 branches.

● Other prominent leaders included Jhinguri Singh, Durgapal Singh and Baba Ramchandra.

● There was rapid growth of trade unions in the cities and Kisan sabhas (peasants union) all over the country particularly in U P. Bihar, Tamil Nadu. Andhra Pradesh Kerala, and the Punjab. The first all-India peasant organisation, the All-India Kisan Sabha was formed in 1936 under the presidentship of Swami Sahajanand Saraswati. This was a result of the growth of the Socialist ideas.

● जून 1919 तक, यूपी किसान सभा (UP Kisan Sabha) की 450 शाखाएँ थीं।
